Hello- this is Kristie- I’ve highjacked Bill’s blog again!
noun, often attributive
Definition of community
c: a body of persons of common and especially professional interests scattered through a larger society.
There’s nothing like the smell of deep-fried sugar, meat, and starch, the shrill sounds of excitement from the rides on the fairway, and the endless things to buy at the expo booths. It’s state fair time in Indiana!
Coming from Colorado we thought nothing could top the Colorado State Fair that was basically in our backyard in Pueblo. But Indiana has proven to be a worthy rival.
David and Camden asked us to accompany them on a double date to enjoy the wonders of our local fair offerings. We jumped at their offer – we love hanging out with this ultra-fun couple! We left most of the kids behind in the capable hands of our 15-year-old daughter and explored a bit of the fairgrounds. Because we only had a few hours we had to choose carefully, and our first stop was …. drum roll please….
the art exhibition!
There’s nothing like an art gallery at the fair!
We love exploring the eclectic array of artistic talent on display. Bill has submitted artwork a number of times in the past – as an added bonus there are lovely benefits of free tickets and parking that goes along with submitting work to the show.
As we perused the gallery our eyes lit up as we spied some beautiful Irises! The docent sensed our excitement and came over, so we explained that we know this artist. She’s a member of the Master Oil Painting community!
What a wonderful phrase. I love our community! I love reading the comments on the private Membership Facebook page as you encourage each other in such uplifting and helpful ways. Recently I read about two of our lovely members who figured out they didn’t live far from each other and set up a time to meet halfway – and I believe paint together!
It lifts my heart to witness the cohesiveness that has organically developed in this amazing group of people.
Knowing Bill the way I do, I can understand how his huge heart and gentle ways would attract so many other artists of the same ilk. Seeing the web of strength and talent grow strand by strand since the start of this group back in 2015 is just astounding, and I know it will continue to grow.
Because I gather the images for the webinars I have seen the growth from you, individually, as you submit your work. I also get to read your stories of accomplishments and improvements. It’s such an exciting thing to observe.
I’m on the edge of my seat watching you as you continue to grow.
